The instrument is designed and made as per “Test Methods for Ash Content of Petroleum Products”. It is suitable to determine ash content of petroleum products. The instrument is not suitable to determine petroleum product added ash-forming additive (including certain phosphorus compounds), lubricating oils containing lead, and used engine cranked oils.
