Closed-Cup Flash Point Tester DFp-301

Closed-cup flash point tester for petroleum products (Pensky-Martins method) conforms to the ASTM D93 Standard Test Methods for Flash Point by Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Tester. It is used to test for those liquids which have a kinematic viscosity of 5.8 mm 2/s (cSt) or more at 37.8°C or 9.5 mm 2/s (cSt) or more at 25°C (77°F), or that contain suspended solids, or have a tendency to form a surface film while under test. Other classification flash points have been established by these departments for liquids using these test methods.

Description

Precise, Safe Flash Point Testing for Petroleum Products with the Closed-Cup Flash Point Tester DFp-301

Ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality control with the Closed-Cup Flash Point Tester DFp-301—a reliable, semi-automatic instrument engineered for accurate determination of the flash point of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, solvents, and other volatile petroleum products in accordance with ASTM D56 (Tag Closed Cup), ISO 3679, IP 523, and GB/T 21771 standards. Designed for fuel terminals, refineries, and QC laboratories, the DFp-301 delivers fast, repeatable results while prioritizing operator safety.

Engineered for Accuracy and Everyday Reliability

The DFp-301 Closed-Cup Flash Point Tester uses the Tag Closed Cup method, where a small sample is heated in a sealed cup and periodically exposed to a test flame. The instrument features precise electronic temperature control, an adjustable gas flame ignition system, and a clear viewing window for easy flash detection. Its compact design and intuitive operation make it ideal for routine testing of low-viscosity, volatile liquids with flash points between –30°C and 300°C.

  • Compliant with ASTM D56 & ISO 3679 – Validated for gasoline, ethanol blends, kerosene, and light fuels.
  • Wide Range: –30°C to 300°C – Covers highly volatile to mid-range petroleum products.
  • Adjustable Test Flame & Manual Ignition – Ensures consistent flame size and timing per standard protocol.
  • Precision Temperature Control (±0.5°C) – Stable heating rate for reproducible results.
  • Stainless Steel Test Cup & Safety Shield – Durable construction with protective barrier for safe observation.
  • Compact Benchtop Design – Fits easily in fuel labs; compatible with fume hoods for vapor management.

Trusted for Fuel Safety and Specification Verification

Flash point is a critical parameter for classifying flammable liquids under OSHA, DOT, and GHS regulations. The DFp-301 enables quick verification of fuel quality, detection of light-end contamination, and batch certification—helping prevent fire hazards during transport, storage, and handling. Its adherence to internationally recognized methods ensures data acceptance across global supply chains.

Whether you’re testing ethanol-blended gasoline at a terminal or validating solvent purity in a chemical plant, the Closed-Cup Flash Point Tester DFp-301 provides dependable, standards-compliant performance—every time.

Know your flash point. Protect your process. Ensure compliance.
